A rather extraordinary project of haunting dance, an evocative score, and humanitarian giving.
Halidon Home is delighted to be supporting this wonderful Festival event - not to be missed. Both on artistic grounds and at a humanitarian level, Requiem for Aleppo is the performance to see this summer.
Following its sell out world premiere at Sadler’s Wells, The Pleasance Theatre bring Requiem for Aleppo to Edinburgh for a very special gala performance in aid of Syria Relief.
A ‘brilliant act of love, remembrance and empathy' (Fardous Bahbouh, Oscar winning documentarian), this exceptional collaboration provides a unique expression of life in Aleppo. The real testimonies of former residents are powerfully brought to the stage through David Cazalet’s ‘big evocative score’ (The Times) and choreographer Jason Mabana’s a 'crack team of international dancers' (The Stage), including BBC Dancer of the Year Jacob O'Donnell.
This profound, haunting and mesmeric production offers a unique opportunity to be part of a collective expression of solidarity for the people of Syria.
'Duets of softly curving and mutually supportive intimacy are outstanding... this is a powerful statement of intent' (The Times)
Wednesday 16th August at 7.30pm
Please join us for this exceptional collaboration and for a collective expression of solidarity with the people of Aleppo. 100% of proceeds from ticket sales and donations made on the evening will go to the charity Syria Relief.
